About The Book:
From the foreward: "The stories recanted in this book serve not only to celebrate the accomplishments of Latinas, but of Latina engineers – that rising class of esteemed women who continue to persevere in a male-dominated environment from the classroom to the boardroom. From the campos of California, to the barrios of the Rio Grande Valley, to the boroughs of New York, the stories are bound by an inspiration of cultural resilience as these Latinas strove along adverse pathways to become Quality Hispanic Engineers. It is our hope that this book continues to serve as a source of inspiration to countless of young Latinas to pursue the most arduous yet rewarding of technical careers. We foresee that one day Latina engineers will no longer be among the counted few but will be the greatest Technical Talent." ~Rafeala Schwan, M.S AHETEMS Program Director Society Of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Ic.

Endorsement:
Diana Gomez, P.E.
President
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Inc.
"As Latinas, we have a gift of cuentando nuestras estorias (telling our stories) of faith, love, struggle, hope and success to our children to keep our heritage and memories alive. This book continues that tradition by telling the stories of accomplished Latinas who despite their poor neighborhoods and schools, migrant communities, single-parent homes, and borderlands rose to become great engineers. I am honored to be among those whose stories are brilliantly unfolded in this book. It is my hope that current and future generations of young Latinas are both inspired by the strength of these female role-models to continue reaching for excellence and equally motivated to never give up in spite of the challenges they face. ˇSí Se Puede! (Yes You Can!)"
